Get ready for a fun-filled swamp experience as you get up close to alligators, bald eagles, and other Louisiana creatures in this unique New Orleans swamp tour. After the 50 minute drive from downtown to the swamp, you will board the boat, and you and a maximum of 21 other passengers will travel through the Honey Island Swamp, the home of the legendary Honey Island Swamp Monster. The monster is said to be more than 7 feet tall, featuring yellow eyes and gray hair. The legend dates back to 1963, when it was sighted by a retired air traffic controller.
As you traverse the swamp with your local swamp expert guide, you'll find yourself mere feet away from the swamp's many critters. Raccoons, birds, and turtles are just a few of the run-ins you'll have en route to an authentic Cajun village that is only accessible by boat, so have your camera handy. Please Note: Pickups begin approximately 90 minutes PRIOR to scheduled tour departure time. The closest pick up location to the cruise terminals is the Embassy Suites on 315 Julia Street. It is about a 5 to 15 minute walk or a 2 to 5 minute taxi (not included, approximately $7 US), depending on where your ship is docked. This tour is not a transfer tour, and cannot accommodate luggage.
